Nirvana (she/her) is a lifelong lover of animals and student of behavior. At the beginning of her journey, she worked closely with various wildlife via an internship position with Mass Audubon Drumlin Farm’s rehabilitation and education team, and also spent time volunteering with shelter dogs at MSPCA-Angell. It was through these experiences that she found she was drawn to the hands-on approach of understanding animal behavior and wellness.
In 2014, she started dog walking as a therapeutic reprieve, and soon after began a mentorship at the New England Dog Training Club in Cambridge, MA. There she learned from some of the most respected trainers in her area, and was presented with a new passion in life. In 2018, she earned her professional certification through The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). Since then, she has continued to supplement her training knowledge by attending continuing education seminars and conferences along the East Coast.
Throughout her dog training career, Nirvana has worked to make basic obedience skills approachable for new pet parents and experienced owners alike through private lessons and group classes. It is a dream of hers to make dog training accessible and available to folks of all different economic and social backgrounds, and to continue spreading the wonders of rewards based dog training. Currently, Nirvana enjoys dabbling in different dog sports with her sato, Sukie, including competition obedience, rally, freestyle, nosework, and barn hunt.
